Not that it concerns me since i'm not even 21. Pfft, not even 20 yet!
Not eligible to vote, but i wld sure love to.
The past week has been a rather exciting one and oftentimes i've had the urge to pen down my musings about the political hoo-ha but..... best to keep it on a low. Just discussing it with friends suffices just the same anyway.
Many facebook notes have been circulating around and it's clear that everyone has a very different view and stand on all issues.
Yes, there are valid points but not a single person has covered every problem objectively and i still feel that there are gaps not mentioned as well. Nonetheless, I do hope these so-called adults, 2 years older than I (and above) wld have the maturity and sensibility to vote based on reason and not on emotions.
I am as a matter of fact, rather pro-PAP because even though it is without a doubt they have made blunders and mistakes which have severely angered singaporeans, i believe to err is merely human and well, this party is afterall made up of humans who definitely, will be bound to make mistakes from time to time. Decisions made, risks taken, may not always turn out the way they want it to but at the end of the day, they are the ones elected to make such difficult choices.
However, opposition parties have made some valid points and criticisms which i hope provides a wake up call to the party that has been ruling this tiny island for half a century. Opposition has a few good candidates which i think wld be a waste if they do not win and on the other hand the number of undesirable-why-are-they-even-running-in-this-election far exceeds the good ones. That said, PAP also has a few black sheep which imo can frankly be replaced with the good opposition candidates. Then everyone would be happy, albeit temporarily.
Promises are very easy to make and convince others but at the end of the day (or in this case, 5 years) what would the result and consequences be like?
Ok i wanted to continue then i realized i didn't actually intend to even say anything. Ohwell, got carried away.
Sometimes, CHANGE is not the best foot forward but no matter the outcome, i think it is clear to all parties that singaporeans are one extremely unhappy bunch of people. The winning parties have a lot to do to make these promises happen..... but then again come next elections perhaps us as forgetful humans would just have to go through it all again.
I for one know that my parents are very angry agitated people. Lol. You have no idea how much they are ranting on and on every single day.
Anyway, one wish i do have for the results is tackling the risingcostofliving-decliningstandardofliving issue. I hate it very very much.
I value my personal space on trains/buses/roads very much thx. As well as some form of security and the likes. Oh, and the food. You all do know i love my food very much.
AH and to my friends who often come to my house and use the back gate, you'll be glad to know that the sheltered walkway has finally been completed, 1 day before polling day! FINALLY. After what, a year?!
Thank you PAP for the sheltered walkway! Hahahahhahaha. I'm trying to lighten things here, i've been so serious and gloomy. Hehehe.
Btw, it has been a super eventful week for me and i am thoroughly enjoying my summer.
Sorry to have neglected this blog! :} I'll try to find more time to maintain it.... Still have plans for creating a food+exploration blog actually! Heh heh.
Oh and, smu results are out! I actually fared better this sem you know?! Unbelievable......
Ok thats because i didnt get any Cs this time! Count my lucky stars i scraped through MS with a B-, WHEW. Saved from my D+ grade during midterms.
Sheesh, i will never bid for 'good profs' again.... Always doesnt turn out right. First, AS was so stupid. Ended up bidding too high for it, no money for stats, get korean prof who taught us wrong stuff and made me so unwilling to learn anything at all. So that really killed me.
Then i still don't learn my lesson and, hahaha, REPENT, go and bid for MS and CT so high for the 'good profs'. End up, I bidded for the prof who has a reputation for setting the HARDEST papers and for CT ... well. Shit it all. Hated the groupwork, i love individual work okay? PS: I got an A for my Individual work but hah, groupwork pulled it all down. But then again my classpart mark probably didnt help either.
Howell, unbelievable, i got an A- for bizlaw. Now i'm mentally kicking myself for not bothering with my midterms (i remember i only started reading bizlaw on the day of the exams itself...hahahah. poor sophia was more panicky and worried for me than i was for myself!) that B caused me harm :( But it's okay! I'm very happy with my bizlaw results actually. Hehheh.
LTB results, can slap my wu ya zui. I remember saying that if LTB dont even get A- i dont mind cuz of dunno what nonsense i said la. OF COURSE I MIND. Basket......... I hate it when it's all these stupid little 'quizzes' and 'tests' which people have some kinda answers to and i never knew it existed so i end up dying for the quiz while people score for it = i'm at the end of the bellcurve again. Urgh. Next time i'm going to shamelessly ask around for answers already. Bunch of cheaters! DOG-EAT-DOG WORLD EVERYWHERE!!!!
There's one more module that i havent talked about. Ever so annoying AW. I'm not even going to say anything about that cursed module. Goodbye to it forever, thank God.
Uhm alright sleeping time.
I wanna end of with..............
I THINK GEORGE YEO IS VERY AWESOME AND I HOPE HE DOESNT LOSE ALJUNIED IN THIS ELECTIONS2011.
Other GRCs Ministers they can lose, but definitely not GY!!!
He is one with SOUL and real DRIVE TO HELP OTHERS WITH HIS HEART.
Not those others who have a vested interest in that ministerial seat with a high salary + pension after their term.
He is what Singaporeans need, a listening ear and someone who really cares for the welfare of the people. A rare breed like MP Lily Neo.
